MT. KAILASH & LAKE MANSAROVAR YATRA - JUN 2, 2024

INTRODUCTION

Kailash - Manasarovar is probably the most significant of all pilgrimages and is considered by many as the highest point of their life’s experience. Considered the spiritual center of the Universe by five religions – Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Bon – sacred Mount Kailash and ethereal Lake Manasarovar are the subjects of innumerable myths and legends. Adiyogi Shiva, Buddha, the Jain Theerthankars, all have played a part in imparting a divine mystique to this place.

Completing a prikrama of the lake and the Kora of the sacred mountain is by divine grace only.

As we are visiting temples, conservative attire is recommended. temples will not allow entry if you wear sleeveless and deep neck tops / dresses, or shorts and skirts that are above the knees. Pants, long skirts, tunic if you're wearing western. if you can get traditional attire, that would be best.

From a weather standpoint, its best to check temperatures before you leave. We will have some additional guidance as get closer to our departure dates.

For the trek, please bring appropriate shoes and clothes. We will have a few calls before you depart to ensure you have a good understanding. Traveling light is essential.

A recommended packing list for clothes, toiletries, shoes, medicines etc. will be provided as we get closer to the departure dates.

It is required you purchase travel and health insurance for the risks you are unwilling to cover for yourself.

The best airline will depend on your departure city. We highly highly recommend booking directly with the airlines, and choosing an airline that is offering refunds or flexible changes.

We will begin our journey in Kathmandu, so please land there. The pilgrimage will end in Kathmandu as well, so a round trip can be booked should you wish.

We will work with our team in Kathmandu to coordinate transportation to and from the airport.

The length of the flight will depend on your departure city, of course. From the US, it takes one full day of travel, and with the time change, we advice our yatri's to fly in a day or so earlier to acclimatize (not included in yatra costs).

Currency exchange services are available at the airports and in the cities. Our partners in Kathmandu can help arrange as well. As you sign up, we can advice on how much currency you should safely carry.

Yes. Visitors from many countries will qualify for an e-visa, which is a relatively easy and affordable process. A Nepalese visa is required to enter the country. Please ensure that whatever passport you hold is eligible for this visa. The process can sometimes be lengthy and require in person visits to your embassy, so please start this process immediately. No refunds will be issued after 60 days prior to travel, even for visa problems.

Via to Tibet/China will be managed by our teams in Kathmandu.

Please note: While a 5 days is typical to obtain the Chinese vasa, sometimes there may be unforeseen delays. Costs for the delays will need to be adjusted at such time.

If for any reason, your visa to China is denied, you will be refunded a prorated amount based on the cancellation of the remainder of the trip.
